Did you know that, using the "Profil" function, you can be immediately notified by e-mail when your favourite BDSO statistical tables are updated?

  • Using the "Profil" function simplifies browsing by regular users.

  • Once your profile is open, you can use that option to record your favourite statistical tables and detailed tables. To better find your way among your tables, you can rename them when you add them to your favourites. Your home page will be changed to show your selection of tables, which will save you time when you next visit.

  • By checking the option "Keep me informed about all the updates of my selected tables" when creating your profile, you will be sent an e-mail automatically when your favourite statistical tables are updated. A hyperlink in the e-mail will take you directly to your table.

  • To create your profile, just go to the registration area by clicking on the "Register" hyperlink on the home page. Then just follow the instructions and determine the tables you want to add to your favourites.

Did you know that you can create your own thematic maps using the statistical data of the BDSO?

  • When statistical data in the BDSO correspond to a territorial division, e.g. an administrative region or a municipality, they may be mapped according to your criteria by means of an interactive mapping module.

  • When there is a corresponding map for tabular data, a tab called "Cartographic Representation" appears above the table :

qui permet d'aller en cartographie

  • Clicking on this tab will bring up a criteria selection page :

critère dans la cartographie

  • Once the criteria have been selected, all you have to do is generate the cartographic representation associated with the table.

  • But there is more to this mapping tool! Using the various functions beside the map, you can query or change the map you generate. You can zoom in on a part of the map and move around on it, search for places, obtain information on a specific area (e.g. the exact value of the statistical element corresponding to that area).

  • Lastly, you may even change the automatically generated thematic analysis (colour, number of classes, and so on).

  • Maps can visually complement your tabular data marvellously. So don't hesitate to use the BDSO's mapping tool!

  • The exported file features, in addition to the period covered by the data and the data headers, the table title, the data source(s) and, if any, the warnings concerning the meaning of certain data. The list of symbols is on a second sheet called "Annotations" in the same Excel workbook.
